My first VidCon did not disappoint. The enthusiasm from the creators, fans, and industry leaders towards new innovation in the influencer economy was insane. Was truly inspired by all the agencies and brands building cool sh*t and want to share a couple of highlights below:Best Activation 🤳 - Instagram Instagram built a cozy "Creator Cafe" complete with a full Coffee Bar, Lounge area, Rayban Station and more.Most importantly it was a space that inspired content CREATION from the influencers who visited. A perfect example of how to display a platform known for its creative backgroundBest Panel 🗣 - Creator vs Corporate Creative ft Austin Null Kai WatsonAditi Rajvanshi,Hector Benavides andThomas Ma Key Takeaways include:- UGC is more important than ever "You are buying it because your freinds sends it to you"- True collaboration between creator and brand leads to results - "its time to bring creators into the creative brand strategy"- Thumb Stop ratio is a key metric people are not thinking about - "Mix and match on creative until you get something that sticks"Best Show floor Booth 🍟 - MiniverseThe MGA team build an entire interactive restaurant where you could build your own menu of Mini food items. From Pizza to Coffee, the experience had all sorts of different collections on display.     The Social Media app BeReal. was just acquired by Mobile Game Publisher. Here's why it makes sense TLDR: Voodoo is a tech company that creates mobile games and apps and is is the #3 mobile publisher worldwide in terms of downloads after Google and Meta. BeReal. was acquired in a 500 Million Euro deal bringing its 40M user base under the Voodoo banner.Why acquire a social media app as a game publisher? USERS - The 40M users from BeReal. align well with the audience of Voodoo's games and other apps (GenZ and Millennial) allowing for cross promotion across app networks.GROWTH - Voodoo will help BeReal accelerate product development and user growth with aims to grow to 100M users in the next 2 yearsAD's - Voodoo plans to implement ads into the app. The app's large US, EU and Japanese audience can drive solid CPM's and a new revenue channel for VoodooThere is also an opportunity to have some BeReal features included in games:For example - a push notification saying you have one minute to complete this in-game challenge to gain an reward, driving DAU and engagement.Excited to watch this next chapter untold for each company#gaming #tech #acquisition
